I had a good dad. He joined the RAAF at 17 as a pathway out of a chaotic and under privileged childhood. They helped him finish school which changed his future and that’s why I had the stable and privileged childhood he didn’t. Gone 3 years but never forgotten. Happy Fathers Day.

Actually we do know the answer. Women weren't allowed to become astronauts for NASA until 1978, & one of the greatest astronauts of all time, Ed Dwight, was blocked from Apollo missions in the 60s because he was Black. NASA was not a meritocracy. Apparently neither is journalism.

Because white men have always occupied the centre, some seem to think if they can't have an opinion on everything, this is some kind of oppression. It isn't. There was always other centres, other lives, others opinions in which you were irrelevant (as I am in others matters).
