Was there a bidding process to hire to build this app? Did the company have other successful projects to showcase with the same level of simultaneous user engagement that a state-wide caucus would bring? This is something that deserves some level of investigation.

Just to recap on the company that created the mobile app for the #IowaCaucuses: Shadow, Inc. created by former Hillary for America staffers in 2019 was hired by State Democratic officials to build an app that would be used for a statewide election process, based on what...?

LinkedIn does show the folks, and basically the story of this company can be understood as former Hillary staffers who created a company together, which then local Democratic state offices hired to build their app. Were they chosen primarily because of those relationships?

Company has 591 followers on Twitter, no mention of who is behind it. All we know is it's based in Denver. That's a lot of obfuscation for a company building progressive digital apps that run statewide elections. #IowaCaucuses

Let's not forget that caucus system privileges those with the ability to physically go and gather in a place for large lengths of time. That's a privilege of physical ability, money, often childcare, etc. The idea behind them is noble but implementation is inherently flawed.

Don't run elections through apps.
