      I'm a big fan of Marjorie Williams' profiles. Her Barbara Bush one is legendary, I think, and so is her one of Anna Quindlen. Neither woman participated.

      Bush: https://www.vanityfair.com/magazine/1992/08/williams199208 … The Quindlen piece is hard to find online (it's in one of Williams' books), but I think it is one of most perceptive pieces written about NYT's newsroom culture.
