I once had a desk job for eight months — and it was an incredible job — but eight months without reporting left me feeling gray and shriveled, like I was E.T. when he was quarantined in that plastic tent.

Someone I haven’t talked to in a couple of weeks told me I seemed way more upbeat..... which means going out reporting has considerable restorative powers or my brain registers courtyard marriotts as home and I am no longer homesick.
