      This decade, I have fallen off a stage at an awards ceremony; arrived 30 min late on my first day at the LA Times; slipped and split my pants on an LA sidewalk; and taken a wrong turn (in a car) onto what turned out to be a hiking trail and emerged in the middle of a city park.

      I’ll never forget when a ROBH episode overlapped with a night shift on the city desk so IT people had to specially set up one of the TVs in the newsroom to get Bravo.
