Took a tour about this several years ago led by New Orleans historian Leon A. Waters from @HiddenHistoryLa He's worked for decades to keep this story alive & share it with the world. Highly recommend his tours - he makes it come alive.
The slave rebellion in 1811 had been among the largest uprisings of its kind. Yet history largely forgot it.
