  3. Champion Women told the truth about sexual Predator Rick Butler, banned for life for sexually abusing his athletes. Now he's suing them for millions claiming it interfered with his business. Of coaching kids. Donating to help cover their legal defense is a very worthy cause.

  4. When I reflect on what it cost my husband and me, my kids, my parents, my siblings, to have to go forward so publicly because of the FBI's lies and coverup, I'm sick that we are so far down this road with so much still unanswered.

  5. Hohn reached out to Jacob and I not long after I spoke up about SGC. His integrity and friendship and passion for those who had suffered, was deeply encouraging after such an exhausting season. I remain grateful for his leadership and integrity.

  6. I am so deeply encouraged by Hohn's integrity and faithfulness. Abuse flourishes because far too often we don't want to bear the cost of seeing and speaking for the vulnerable. When courageous choices are made, it is redemptive. This is the true gospel.

  9. Survivors are constantly hit with "this is just political...". But if what was said was true, it frankly doesn't matter even IF it is. Our job is to hold to truth and do what is right. Without minimizing or deflecting. Someone else's motivation isn't our responsibility.

  10. And my parents always told me that if I cultivated a humble, learner's heart, and cared about the damage my mistakes could do to others, I would have to learn to accept the truth even if I didn't like the way it was presented or the person it came from.

  11. Choosing to focus on motivations to minimize, or excuse true issues, is deflection and blame shifting. If something is true, it is true. If it was wrong, it is wrong. Our job is to hold to what is true, take responsibility for what was done wrong, and accept those consequences.

  12. Is true, the information is true. If abuse happened or mistakes were made, those facts are not altered one iota by someone else's motivation. We have to deal with what is true. What is true and how we respond, is in our control and is our responsibility. Period.

  13. Even if you believe other candidates are equally or even more unfit. Candidate "A's" qualifications do not alter issues with Candidate "B", if in fact the concerns with "B" are true. 2. Motivations are not relevant because motivations do not affect truth. IF the disclosure...

  14. Second, and even more important, even IF politics was part of the calculus THIS IS NOT RELEVANT for two reasons: 1. It's normal, predictable and warranted, to be concerned about increased power for someone who may not have the understanding or skills yet to lead. This is true...

  15. The fact that an election triggered disclosures or information flow is NOT evidence that politics is the motivation. Even if inf flow came from "the other side".

  16. Information flow is created because people start looking into the candidate and their actions and history. Political races *frequently* trigger information to come out. This is absolutely predictable if one understands trauma, triggers, abuse, and social interactions.

  17. But this is also because when someone runs for any kind of office, it creates information flow. Survivors see their names come up and memories are triggered, they begin to fear the possibility of others at risk on a greater level the more power is obtained. And also...

  18. Disclosures or information related to abuse or mishandling of it, *often* arises in political contexts. This is partly because politics is such a huge part of our systems, that it's often in the backdrop and going on no matter when things come out. You'd have to try to avoid it.
