Are you saying these deaths were directly due to Covid? Bluntly, these excess deaths were because they contracted Covid and it killed them?
unintentional overdose deaths are not Covid deaths.
Think how much better off we would be had the bureaucracy in Washington listened to Dr. Mina (and a lot of others including yourself) in the summer.
In the article you mention ,"We need to amend our messaging and our policies now. Outreach in the coming weeks and months is imperative." This cannot be a top own PSA type educational campaign but one based on Behavior Change grounded in formative research/community engagement.
