An amendment abolishing the electoral college will never be ratified by enough states. But we can and should require states to allocate electors in proportion to the popular vote in each state rather than “winner takes all.”

Impeachment will require charges by the House and a trial in the Senate. There is a political element, but members of both bodies should conduct themselves with the dignity, fairness and respect for the rule of law that we expect of prosecutors and judges. Otherwise it’s a joke.

And here, Narcissus the arms negotiator: Pay no mind that the DPRK’s nuclear program continues apace, for KJU’s gorgeous “letters contain flowery praise”—even “employing honorifics such as ‘Your Excellency’”!

Ah, yes. How many times have we seen this now? Undercut and contradict your representatives so no one will deal with them. Nothing gets accomplished, but at least you remain the center of focus, because that’s the only thing that matters. The Narcissist’s Art of the Deal.

Minnesota state senate candidate is another honest candidate who won’t take PAC money. Partisan hacks are already sending him nasty messages saying he makes PAC friendly candidates look bad. If you believe in democracy, consider sending candidates like him a check.

It is time for the House and Senate GOP to negotiate a separate deal with Democrats. Negotiate to cut wastefull spending. Negotiate to increase penalties on employers of undocumented workers. But don’t waste our money on that useless wall.

Why won’t Congress enact a law that requires the President, Vice President and Members of Congress to follow the same financial conflict of interest rule, 18 USC 208, that applies to just about every other federal employee? Because they don’t want to have to sell their stocks.

This bill should make the criminal conflict of interest statute 18 USC 208 that applies to every other executive branch official also apply to the President, VP and Members of Congress. Why doesn’t it? They don’t want to sell their stocks. via

The Speaker should support impeachment of the President for high crimes and misdemeanors, and also should insist that all Members in their language and actions demonstrate the dignity, fairness and composure required to undertake that serious task.
