Absolutely. And let's rename the NBF state park while we're at it. Such a spectacular place deserves a name that conjures beauty, not hate.

The Civil War is over. The South lost the war. We've had 155 years to get over it. It's time to look to the future. NBF is not in the future. There is no reason now to 'honor' him. The written history will remember him. Move forward.

If they love it so much, then they need to put it in a PRIVATE nontaxpayer funded museum or their back yard- whatever- but NOT in a state building. The "I hate gubmint'" crowd sure loves to use tax payer money for their pet idols. So how about a Malcolm X bust next to it?

Now would be a great time for Tim Burchett to voice his opinion instead of tweeting pictures of turtles!

Couldn’t agree more! I have learned and acknowledged historical figures through education, NOT through observing statues. The point of statues is to commemorate and memorialize. I don’t believe Nathan Bedford Forrest is a figure we should be celebrating.pic.twitter.com/ruRr1meEDP
