If you're open to expanding by lowering eligibility to age 55 on day 1, why not age 0? Age 55 seems arbitrary and frankly discriminatory to younger ages.

I've heard from folks that if they could get Medicare they would retire early. This would open up jobs for younger folks, so we'll get a twofer!
