The problem requires a lot of funding, as we're seeing with the Green New Deal, and Americans are not inclined to be taxed. So the question becomes how to prioritize environmental protection and how we deal with incoming climate migrants, because they are the next wave.
I think we need to concentrate on renewable energy jobs so that we can provide confidence that this new economy will work for everyone. If we can curb our fossil fuel consumption and prevent the worst of a changing climate's effects, we will lessen the influx of climate migrants.

I used to work with immigrants and I can tell you first hand, if they can stay in their country they would prefer to do so. We need to provide economic and environmental security so they can do just that.
