If I am elected to Congress, I will strive to uphold our laws and values. That includes our upholding laws on immigration-- but refusing immigrants their basic human rights and dignity is not one of our values. (1/3)

There is no law that requires the separation of families when they cross the border. There is no law requiring that they be kept in inhumane conditions. How we treat the people who come to this country is a measure of our values, not just an execution of our laws. (2/3)
