(1/4)I am honored by the more than 100,000 East Tennesseans who entrusted me with their vote in this election. We came up short & I congratulate incumbent Congressman Tim Burchett on his reelection to Congress. While my campaign may not have won, all of our efforts are not lost.

And, more data coming in, Tim Burchett won in 2020 with 8% less votes than Jimmy Duncan in 2016. In fact, since 2012, Republicans in TN-02 have been winning with less and less votes. But... the maps.

But this experiment is over because we will have new maps in the 2022 cycle and the republicans hold a supermajority in the state legislature. They and hopefully the courts will decide whether the districts for the next 10 years will be drawn fairly.

In 2016, only one republican district (TN-02) had a shift towards democrats. In 2020, 5 districts when towards dems. TN-04 and TN-06 were the only ones to go right by 3.4 pts and 0.4 respectively in this election.

And the maps. Democratic congressional candidates did much better in TN than in 2016, but we couldn't break the 30/60 barrier. The real surprise was TN-01 with a move of almost 10 pts towards dems for the first time in 10 years.

(4/4)When COVID broke out, I kept my all of staff fully employed & volunteered in our community, went virtual, and raised thousands for the uninsured. And I am proud to say: not a single person got COVID-19 because of our campaign.

(3/4)We trained more than 60 staff & interns, supported down-ballot candidates, ran an honest campaign, & continued to build an infrastructure for Democrats in East Tennessee. We fought for important issues, like better healthcare and an economy that works for everyone.

(2/4)Together, we made half a million voter contacts, raised more money & got more votes than an East Tennessee Democrat ever has & moved the district another 14% compared to 2016. Together, we proved that for East Tennessee Democrats -- the worst days are behind us.

Ending election day at Farragut Town Hall – thanking folks for voting & for waiting in line. There is nothing that East Tennessee can’t do if we do it together.

It’s been the privilege of a lifetime running for Congress. If you’ve already voted for me, I am grateful by your support. If not, polls are open until 8pm – I’d be honored to have your support.

Back on the phones. I’ve made nearly 20,000 calls this election– each and every one has made a difference. Together, we’ll make an East Tennessee that works for everyone.
