I'm a little uncomfortable with crowds deciding to take down statues. Is it just me?

These are being removed after city council votes. Not mob action.

Durham seems to be a "crowdsourced" decision. Baltimore City Council just voted to remove all of theirs.

That's a nice way of saying a bunch of pissed of people just decided to tear down a monument.

Ok. Just remember this when an alt-right crowd just decides to topple a statue.

Or put them in The Park of Discarded Ideology, like the one in Budapest for statues and street art of the Communist era.

Exactly! I'm totally in favour about teaching the Civil War. The South clinging to monuments is just holding on to resentment over losing.

The only Civil War tribute statues/monuments should be for the Union side.

Why cause the Union was just oh so good? Lol the union was just as racist and white washed as the south.. was def evident after the war..

Better proposal: The only monuments should be those to the freed slaves.

Replace all the civil war statues with civil rights heroes.

I know, let's also remove all references to the first twelve presidents as well. They owned slaves and supported slavery.
