If you work at LSU (the academic side) imagine how depressing it would be to see your local congressman raising money for this silly rounding-error fine on the Athletic Dept while the library crumbles.

Or imagine being a student struggling to pay for books or tuition and fees and seeing that your local congressman cares more about the grass at Tiger Stadium than your struggles to earn a degree. Now, imagine all the people who will chip in to his silly GoFundMe.

I’ve been a contingent employee at Lsu for nearly a year and been told I can’t get hired on full time and receive benefits because it’s not in the budget 🙃

It was definitely a point of conversation in ECE, where we struggled with funding and no one caring while watching a new addition to Tiger Stadium go up literally across the street.

Direct your comment(s) to the legislature. They’re the ones who can’t count to ten on both hands; they control the purse strings, yet they convince the voters to re-elect because of the great job they’re doing.🤡

This attitude influenced my decision to seek greener academic pastures. Love LA and its people, but I hate the starvation of learning and teaching and raising our people up by education while we gorge ourselves on athletic glory. It is painful to watch, to experience, to know
