I’m neither a bigot nor an idiot. It doesn’t matter what my or your idea of comedy is; comedy is offensive. It’s just the nature of the beast. I will say again, more speech is always better. ALWAYS. Censorship in any form is BAD.

That’s why I’m glad we don’t get to decide what’s funny for other people. I think Amy Schumer is a vile human being and a disgrace to women. But, I would NEVER tell you that you couldn’t watch her.

If the speech is proven to have directly incited the violence, it isn’t protected. That’s already been established by the courts.

Direct calls to violence would be the only restrictions I would allow. You didn’t just “get” me. The US courts have established pretty good guidelines that I agree with. The restrictions on speech are very specific, and I would not restrict any more than is already done.

It’s also an interesting thought experiment to think if I really want to restrict speech, per say, or if people are responsible after the fact for any physical harm that they provoke through their speach. You’ve given me something to think about. Thanks. 2/2
