Who's going to be at the reserve when the first returns for the spring? We normally expect them in mid-February, but due to the mild winter they could turn up any day now! (Image: Paul Jubb)

The wind has rolled through the reserve today, keeping the 6 spotted redshank huddled up on the scrape. It didn’t put off the hen harrier and marsh harrier either, both giving great views.

It's a bit ! But we're fully open, paths been checked for tree damage & at least one marsh harrier is loving the weather! Also six spotted redshanks showing well from the visitor centre, with our friendly team & tasty refreshments to keep warm. Pic: P.Jubb

Morning folks! Remember to keep those feeders stocked up to give our garden birds a helping had! A mixture of seeds, nuts and fat balls are always a winner! 💙

We’re back with our fantastic range of telescopes and today; come on down and at the wonderful wildlife on the reserve. ‘Spot’ our resident snipe is in position this morning, and there’s good wader numbers on the scrape after a windy day yesterday!
