I was always very suspicious that the algorithm would always promote science videos to a predominantly male demographic - even though I can guarantee there are plenty of us who enjoy the inner workings of GPS and even work with them ourselves! @TeamYouTubehttps://twitter.com/Fiosracht/status/968450891392184320 …

56,000 views for the GPS video this month. 100% from men. The algorithm definitely did not suggest this video to women. The algorithm is programmed to impartially serve videos to people, with the goal of maximising their likelihood of clicking. pic.twitter.com/ljIb4g1FkX

You should see the state of my gender analytics on my YouTube videos! I know that at the moment, the tech industry is still very much male dominated, but is it really a 97% domination?!pic.twitter.com/f5rrcPWQQo

All my analytics show a similar 95/5 split.

I think something has gone wonky with YT reporting. My YT stats were always between 93/7 and 96/4 but now even historical data are showing very close to 100%.

I just checked YouTube. My M/F ratio is 99.3/0.7. I hate my own voice on video. I guess I'm not alone :)

I've always feared that my voice actually sounds like it does when recorded and I just hear it differently due to placement of my ears or something.

Yep you're right. You also hear your own voice through your skull. Unfortunately it means I sound like the recording. Not nearly as awesome as the voice(s) in my head!
