I am disappointed, but still happy to see that the disinformation and misinformation on India presented in Guha’s expertly photoshopped “history” has purchase. Happy because, “markets will somewhere remain inefficient” till such third-rate books are popular 😄

OK so basically I am hearing that I should start with "India After Gandhi" 😃

They have - and abuse - the “freedom of expression” to write such nonsensical stories, others have the right to criticize them - nay, lambast them. What kind of a society have we become, to accept and even promote such rubbish as “entertainment”.

The insensitive, shameless and anti-India stance of writers like in portraying terror-sponsoring ISI’s agents as friendly partners of India’s RAW in their made-up “Spy Universe” is an insult to the victims of terrorism.

Hmmm…so Pakistani ISI agent Zoya is “friends” with RAW agent Pathaan! Too bad they insult the intelligence of the audience in this ridiculous manner – but then I guess anything is possible in the nonsensical world of Bollywood.

Sad to see some politicos becoming serial offenders on India's security issues.... repeatedly questioning our own armed forces' successful operations.

Since there has been considerable angry debate about BBC, the following lines are quoted from page 83-84 of my book, The Ultimate Goal. In fact, the whole chapter may be of interest to some.

Why is a farmer earning Rs 12 lakhs or Rs 7 crore a year for ex. privileged over an executive or businessperson who earns the same amount? Zero direct taxes on farm / agriculture income are just one more colossal subsidy from services and manufacturing sectors to agriculture.

Nobody even mentions anything about taxing agriculture income and making rich farmers pay their share. Don’t regurgitate constitutional blocks on such taxation to me - those may be solvable. Sadly there is not even any policy debate on how farmers’ income should be taxed.

Personal income taxes in India are too low—not too high . Successive governments have lavished the upper middle classes with very generous tax breaks.

You and your buddies are not “Indian cinema”. The days of the dominance of your Bombay-based, Communist-leaning cabal are practically over…the world dances to Naatu Naatu not Besharam Rang. Get over it, angry old man ✌️

#WATCH | ...Indian cinema one of the strongest goodwill ambassadors in world. Compared to Hollywood, our stars better recognised. If you go to Germany&say "I'm an Indian", you'll be asked "You know Shah Rukh?" We're a major soft power of India&it should be protected: Javed Akhtar

Amazing, but not surprising! One titan recognizes another. The Bollywood dynastic establishment that likes to think of itself as the be-all and end-all of Indian cinema will writhe in envy. Whatever they might say in public, privately they must be very frustrated.

A paradigm shift - the DG of is advocating for industrial policy, eschewing free trade? 🤨
Quote Tweet
This is why #WTO reform is so important. We need to update the rules to better reflect the more active role of the state (i.e. industrial policies); to deal with the green + digital transformation; to create more transparency on the use trade tools for security objectives. 4/5
