@RLewisReports Help me understand how the FGC actually is not esports when their pro's are lathered up in sponsor logos as are their event streams? They have been preaching this anti-esports shit for a decade now...yet...they actually are esports, that must burn them deep.

The pros are fine. Everything I did at Eleague was for those guys. They got talent, they got personalities and they deserve to earn. It's the amateurs, the people with nothing but the locals in their lives, that say all this anti-esports shit. It's obvious why.

It's such a bummer. If teams had more guarantees that top players would get stream time, like at E League, instead of worried that they could get knocked out by a fluke in open brackets, the pros could make more money.

One big thing I always see for FGC is a love of open brackets & not treating their players like celebrities. So that would be a seismic cultural shift. Though I doubt more invitational events would hurt. Do you think invitationals in addition to open brackets would help?

I remember writing about the situation when people got pissed off about the Smash guys getting a player lounge away from everyone at some event and even other pros said that was elitist etc. I was very much on the side of the Smash guys. That was a long time ago.

As someone who volunteered at Shine 2016, it wasnt actually a player lounge. I am no one significant to high level play and was back there for several hours. @Shine_Series can confirm this.

It wasn't Shine I was talking about. This was way before 2016.

Yeah, and the FGC at large seems even more against that sort of treatment. Ultimately, now some Smash tournaments offer warm up sections that are for anyone who is going to be on stream as opposed to just top players.
