  2. Good to see VP-elect Lai heading to DC for national prayer breakfast. No reason he shouldn’t come to DC after May 20. Also contrasts TW commitment to all faiths as PRC persecutes religions & ⁦⁩ moves toward formal recognition of PRC over TW

  9. Hat tip to ⁦⁦⁩ but this misses the point. There’s no balance necessary. Allowing the PRC in to your 5G network is national security negligence of the highest order. At some point you have to break the PRC use of to protect your long term interests

Our story on the debate is up. Important to stay focused on the key qu of whether Taiwan’s exclusion from ICAO has an impact on the world’s aviation security system or if safety is at all compromised 1/

  13. The UKG’s decision to work with Huawei threatens US national security & cannot be overlooked. Post-BREXIT, the UK will need to make hard choices about where it’s future lies. Rejecting Brussels only then to choose Beijing is a damnable choice.

It is telling of the negative effects that PRC influence over IOs have on rules & standards when people freely expressing their views on an open platform concerning the unjust exclusion of 23.7M people would be considered in policy to be "irrelevant, compromising and offensive."

  20. Sovereignty means control of data as much as land. We need to decide what we’re willing to invest in and who were willing to share our tech with. The real costs will come later if we get this wrong and allow Huawei to run 5G.
