    Can we just be clear that the current crisis as shown on is entirely down to political choices on funding and policy decisions made on ideological grounds. If we followed the evidence base, we wouldn't be in this mess.

    Relying on the private sector to deliver funding for the Social Housing this country needs isn't learning from the past. It's ignoring it. We have so many living in temp accommodation because of nullifying of council house building, intro of RTB & move to mixed funding in 80s.

    The days of mass council housebuilding are over. We now need to find innovative sources of funding (eg private pensions) and build homes that are green, beautiful, aspirational (providing bespoke employment & skills support for tenants), with an inbuilt pathway to ownership.
