    This is in direct contradiction with earlier news that the virus wouldn't be able to stay alive on surfaces for more than a couple of hours. Similar reports from China, where virus was found on door knobs.

    ABSOLUTELY BREAKING: health minister, Gan Kim Yong said on Feb 2nd: "Let me explain, when a person sneezes or coughs, the droplets fall unto the surfaces of tables and chairs. And the virus may remain alive for up to a few days".

    Evidence-based decision for something we don't know much about? Travel restriction is for people, not trade! How can travel restrictions on people hinder information shared on the internet? Would the harm of having millions of sick people be worse on the economy?

    I believe you're exactly right. Consider what 'circuit breakers' do: they stop the activity right away, then allow time to figure what's happening. Trading floor, electrical grids, your home electrical system, etc. , even at various scales it works.

    Ergodicity is the equality of probabilities over time (single path) vs space (all paths). Think of flipping 1coin 10k times vs 10k coins 1 time; same outcome, so ergodic. In nonergodic markets, YOUR one path of returns will not equal the larger expectation (assumed probability).

    Just my thought! Also: The WHO should look at another software principle more closely, Single Responsibility: Their concern about trade and travel (as tweeted yesterday by ) is not their main business.

    Everyone that works in software knows that modularity, encapsulation, and weak coupling is necessary to make a robust application We fail to apply this to our most crucial systems
