This week, we were in to see it in action as the city started the official rollout of its new ♻️carts made possible through one of our granting initiatives. Replacing residents' bins with 96-gallon carts means residents have 5xs more #recycling capacity.

Bruce Lowery, left, and Kenniff Williams of Grand-Rapids-based manufacturer Cascade Cart Solutions deliver new, 96-gallon recycling carts at Bay City residents’ homes in the 1200 block of South Mountain Street on Monday, Dec. 12. The citywide cart distribution is a partnership with the Michigan Dept. of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy. Deliveries to more than 15,000 households will continue through Dec. 23 and kicks off the largest recycling program expansion in Bay City history that will double the city’s per-household material collection efforts generating an estimated 1,425 new recycling tons per-year.
