Oh god, I'm about to have a blood vessel pop here... It's HIS work; he can do whatever HE wants to with it. If someone can whip up something that devalues your work for FREE, guess what?

Historically, over the last 60 years, budgets on various sectors of the illustration industry have been cut or haven’t kept up with inflation. There’s a rise in budgets being low while seeking exclusive copyright ownership forever and asking to work for exposure.

Replying to @o_fishel @RCrossbows and
Everyone is free to do what they want. My argument is that illustration is labor, it has value, and what he’s doing sets a bad precedent for all of us. This isn’t about me. This is about our livelihoods.

Labor doesn't inherently have value. If someone is laboring away at some near-worthless commodity like Humans of Flat Design, then they should expect the bottom to drop out of the market. I work in software. Most code is shared, given away for free, and there's never a problem.
