One of the most passionate & powerful monologues in the history of the programme. And it wasn’t James O’Brien - it was Martin Lewis. |

This is a wild read for longtime NFL observers. The not only are the most analytically-advanced team, per 's annual league survey, but they have multiple future GM candidates on staff should other teams seek to emulate their structure.

The Government is running a consultation to raise the qualifying age for free prescriptions in England from 60 to 66. Some older people won’t be able to afford this. Make your voice heard and respond to the Government's consultation by 2 September:

If this happens, it will have a knock on effect on the NHS with more people visiting GPs and A&E later on because their health will deteriorate". Finally decided to write a user interface for my optimization model with all the bits and pieces I have used until today. After pulling 2 all nighters, everything works smoothly!

might sound like an easy game, but to really do well, you need to invest time, use & and have a strategy. The fact that chess world champion also has a FPL team, shows the type of competition you're up against! Good luck all! 👍

There's a great quote in William's "Model Building in Mathematical Programming" which I try to keep in mind in analytics. "A model should be used as one of a number of tools for decision-making". Numerical analysis is best served with a side of subject matter expertise.

A4: The eternal 'eye-test' question :) Eye-test is important, but hard to quantify and do objectively compared to . mentioned the importance of reading people who know what they are watching as a proxy. I agree! 💯

A3: A topic close to my heart :) Prediction models (ML) and Optimization definitely lie in the middle of whole analytics and data discussion for . They are commonly used in other fantasy sports (DFS) and slowly making their way into FPL.

A3: I don't think there is a 'one fits all' model to apply to fantasy sports, there's so many variables, from the data available, to the actual modelling, to the optimization of costs, I've seen it go from Logistic/Linear Regression to xGBoosts and RNN models

A2: The actions you’re looking for in real sports are much broader than in fantasy. In fantasy, you’re searching for actions that result in points set out by the league you join. Whereas there’s many more actions that impact success in real life such as ball recoveries.
