One failing test after a streak of green gets everyone’s attention. Fewer people notice when 1 frequently failing test grows to 20.

So I have a private repository “Android-Studio-Settings” which I use as my settings repository for Android Studio and IntelliJ. It’s great that I can hop between different computers and always have my settings up to date, but it also make me look like a GitHub rockstar. 👍

unpopular opinion: if you have flaky tests, there is something wrong with your test setup. Automatically rerunning them should not be the accepted solution.

When I'm already inside a JetBrains IDE, I'll still use Markdown Navigator. It uses actual language fragments inside code blocks, so you get actual inspections in code samples. Very handy!

Adding context with `asClue {}` in is pretty neat. A failing test will also print the context object (here the `ApplicationEntity` data class). I couldn't find an equivalent function in AssertJ.

If you're giving a demo in a terminal, use a light background, dark text. The way projectors work often doesn't throw enough light for a dark theme to be visible.

I just published Stronger Typing for CoroutineScopes, where I describe a simple way to define which sort of CoroutineDispatcher your CoroutineScopes use at compile time.

You might have seen some press recently about a study Google did where they trained a neural net to read mammograms more accurately than doctors. As usual, that's not the real story. What is, is the sad state of the American healthcare industry.
