What if a very blue state passed a Snitches Get Stitches law where anyone who attempted to profit from reporting others for aiding and abetting in abortion is subject to a $20,000 fine?

This is a huge long shot, but the person who filmed this deliverista last night received $1,700+ from media outlets who wanted to license the footage. They want to give all of it to the worker, but need finding him. Any tips? This was ~10:10pm near Roebling/11th st in BK. ⬇️

In the last 24 hours, our supporters raised $185,000+ for Texas abortion orgs and made ~100,000 check-in calls to Ida flood victims in our NYC district. Let this be your sign. Find an organizing community, roll up your sleeves, and get to work. It feels better to be in movement.

So the exact same way your family came here, except yours didn’t do anything to aid the United States first.

New FOREVER WARS: A staggering new, analytically conservative estimate of the costs of the War on Terror tallies 900,000+ dead. What would you rather have done with $8,094 — each American taxpayer’s share of the bill for the war?

In 1970, when I went to Reed, a small, private, liberal arts college, tuition was $3,000 a year. This year, annual tuition at that same school is a mind-boggling $62,420, more than 20 times as high.

“The Green New Deal, which is a blueprint to create millions of good jobs rebuilding infrastructure to stem climate change & protect vulnerable communities, is unrealistic.” “Instead we will do the adult thing, which is take orders from fossil fuel execs &make you swim to work.”

America owes reparations to survivors/relatives of the war-on-terror dead and ought to resettle the millions of refugees the war created. The US obligation to Afghans/Iraqis/etc extends far, far beyond those who served the US as translators.

Les assassins du président haïtien Jovenel Moïse étaient des mercenaires "professionnels" s'étant fait passer pour des agents américains et pourraient avoir déjà quitté le pays, a déclaré l'ambassadeur haïtien aux Etats-Unis

Obviously our revelation that UK troops are secretly operating in eastern Yemen has not been covered in the UK press. We have different values: we're serving the public's right to know, the establishment media is serving the establishment. Pls support us

This is so true & reminds me of what Baldwin said to a segregationist on nat'l TV in '62: you are afraid of our liberation because we've had to watch you closely in order to survive. Our freedom is the freedom to tell the world what we've seen:

I want to say more about this even if perhaps I shouldn’t. Black Americans are amongst the most astute political and social observers of American power because our survival has and still depends on it.

You will forgive me for not having a lot of patience when some of my colleagues in the Senate tell me that we can’t afford to act on climate change. Really? The question that we must be asking, as loudly as possible, is how we can afford not to act?

Historians will look back on this era of rising white supremacy, right-wing authoritarianism, and domestic extremism and wonder how the rest of us were all just totally ok with it being openly encouraged, promoted, and incited * every night*, for hours, on primetime cable ‘news’

Public pension officials are feted at luxury private equity conferences where they listen to Fareed Zakaria and watch Cirque du Soleil live. Then they put workers’ retirement savings into PE funds that perform badly while making all of our lives worse

It's quite fascinating to me how even very educated Americans are only vaguely aware of their country's early 20th century imperial adventures in the Caribbean and Central America. U.S. troops were in Haiti almost as long as they've been in Afghanistan.
