It doesn't. Strong social welfare systems work though. Scandinavian countries are capitalist with high tax rates that give a strong social safety net and subsidize education and healthcare to a large degree. That is not socialism. It's a capitalism with a strong infrastructure

Look at all the Nordic countries right at the top. But boy we sure wouldn't want socialism here!

They're not socialist. They have really high taxes that pay for their strong infrastructure and social safety net. It's not a bad thing. I think it's a great thing but it's not socialist

Not surprising. I lived in Sweden, and had a chance what life is like there, and people are doing very well. College tuition and healthcare is taxpayer funded. Yes, taxes are higher, but the trade offs are worth it.

is awesome too. My daughter works and lives in Vienna - most liveable city in the world multi years- and sees NO reason to come back to the States. By the way she lives life more than she works and is very happy.

With a second Trump term, we'll get that number from 27 up into the 190's.

Trump-enablers seem to feel that a neo-feudal economy would be just dandy. They forget that in high-inequality nations, there is no progress on things such as medical research. They won't like it as much as they think they will.
