While this is generally good news, if the Biden administration was serious about helping immigrants, it would drop its appeal of Title 42, pass legislation protecting DACA, pass the Afghan Adjustment Act, and make seeking asylum more humane.

The fact that Republican states asked for a fast track on the ruling should tell you that Democrats and Republicans are willing to make asylum-seekers suffers for political points. These policies cause real harm and the Biden administration knows this.

When a process is unclear, it can lead to harm. In this case, immigrants who deserve freedom are being held for longer periods of time because ICE's obfuscation of how the bond paying system works.
