That's because they have the largest lens from the Boffins at their secret Broom lane base ( just down the A505 on the left) its known as the Harp ( Huge Aperture Relativly Perfect ) 5mile up inverted version

As you are well aware, this was a short lived strategy as plane 7 (“the pivot” as it was known) was subsequently dropped from the formation as it frequently shot down planes 3 & 4 The formation then became the better known “bit smaller arc of fire”
