Fact of the Day: The Super Army Soldiers use A380s painted in the same Summer Sandy Beach colour as their berets for all their operations. The planes are not fitted with doors to save time when fast-roping and parachuting during Swoops. Photo by Sgt Lee French-Painter #AvGeekpic.twitter.com/EkSORGF3xF

I thought the netting was to fire the soldiers out so that they miss the wings and engines when they parachute out.

Sad decline in standards of upper lip stiffness if so. Boshing around those parts used to be a rite of passage - hence the motto "Who Fears Wings?" and the badge with a broadsword slicing a feather in half.

I like the plucky use of insulating tape to hold the wings in place!

Living quite close to an Airbus factory this wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest

Apologies, I read and saw this as Serge the French Painter had painted those nets on the doors as a Trompe L’oeil to confuse those on the outside of the aircraft. I’ll correct my files.

Impressed that the plane has taken down three Russian PH-7 'Pheasant' fighter bombers.

Picture taken during COVID out Break, can be seen as this is the facemask variant of the A380

It has probably been very chalenging to find big enough strings to attache the facemask from the nose to the winglet. Hence why they choose to paint the facemask instead. GENIUS !!
