A lot of this effort would have been saved if Margaret Thatcher hadn't cheaped out, and instead ordered the 4WD version of the Chinook, which was only 100 pounds more.

Fun fact: the preferred method is to land the Osprey on top of one that is stuck in the mud and then switch the propellers off. It is mandatory to scream ‘weeeeeeehhhhhh’ when dismounting the aeroplane down a rope, or face sanctions.

No no, you're mistaken, it definitely says chinook pilots, implying they're flying chinooks. But yeah, screaming Whheeeeeeee while sliding down a rope is great fun.
