Photo of the Day: The only photo ever taken of a Vulcan fighter jet at mach3, pictured flying over central Birmingham at 99,000ft, from a Canberra that was struggling to keep up and rapidly running out of fuel. #AvGeek #RAFLutonpic.twitter.com/1UIB5pyIlI

There are people who have seen central Birmingham, you know, and lived to talk about it.

It's amazing how those small solar panels at the front can power the plasma thrusters and laser cannon

You can see my house on the top left corner, just next to Villa Park! I heard the Vulcans fly over last night, there must have been 40 heading for Cardiff!

Little known fact: Birmingham has more miles of trees than Venice. This is why it's known as the Venice of the West Midlands.

*Vulcan Trivia Time* Whilst cruising at mach 3 over land the vulcan crews would cover the sound of the sonic boom by putting a cushion on the nose & playing music loudly so people would think it was just a modded car with a banging sound system passing by on the street.
