That’s an impressive array of engines. Was this the marinated version of the B-36 ‘Haymaker’ light attack aircraft as that had a few as well?

I think you will find that picture was taken when it landed on the Themes after its maiden voyage. Back then the themes used to come all the way up to St. Pauls.

Did the store have a load of old engines they needed to get rid of? I mean, you go in needing a long weight and walk out having signed for a dozen knackard V8s leaving a store man with a huge smile on his face.

as a store man i heartily applaud this type of thing. as soon as it is issued out it is no longer my responsibility and if it is found to be defective it is tough s**t you signed for it.
