Photo of the Day: #RAFLuton's very own The Plummeters freefall display team in their famous "Because we were Inverted" formation. The team display at over 6000 airshows a year! Though most people are buying an ice cream at the time the team fall to earth and miss their display.pic.twitter.com/9koBfpSNA3

Given the appalling attrition rate in ‘The Plummeters’ when do you intend issuing them with parachutes again?

Hi Andy, the team have got through a lot of members in the 200yrs that they have been doing this, we started making them use parachutes in 2018 when new Health & Safety laws came into effect

This is totally fake cover up. They've just flipped the photo of the legendary Luton Leapers who train long hours to jump skyward to grab on to passing planes to do exterior maintenance.

Their motto “we reach for the stars (and in hindsight that was a mistake and we should have reached for the ripcord)” is an inspiration to all. Who survive.

They all look so relaxed whilst plummeting to earth at terminal velocity. Such training.

Hi Howard, The team have always loved doing this sort of thing, even more so since we started issuing them with parachutes in 2018
