Fact of the Day: HMS Camel (Named because of the 2 large humps of her design) is the only war boat fitted with small wheels & regularly patrols desert areas. Locals would often refer to her as "'The Ship of the Desert" which then became a popular nickname for Camelspic.twitter.com/A1h5eFFnFM

The ship looks deserted. Have all the ships complement gone on shore leave?

I'll say it. That is definitely wrong. The HMCS Beaver Dam was also fitted with wheels, albeit small ones, for sea shore duty in Saskatchewan.

Fact check: that's not the desert, but actually Camber Sands, which was regularly patrolled by Royal Navy land dreadnoughts as late as 1948, when they were scrapped by the Atlee government.
