All of the Lancaster fighters based at #RAFLuton have had rings fitted to them to help crew observe the 2m #SocialDistancinguk As the trial has gone well so far Honorary Station CO Colonel Chuck "Lone Wolf" McQuade has ordered rings to be fitted to all other fast jets #AvGeekpic.twitter.com/vJsLIXYQU7

But what about the slow jets? They can't get away from the virus as quickly.

A happy side benefit is you can carry a larger crew on your most important missions, as extra crew members can use the ring as a bench.

Seriously concerned about flying in airspace of countries where 2m isn't the norm. Can this be reset in flight to allow our brave aircrew to cuddle up closer when necessary?

Clearly @RAF_Luton this has TWO engines and so this is not a Lancaster but a Mosquito. A Mk0 by the look of it.

Lancaster. The ring has a tactically useful side effect. The optical illusions it creates are yet another example of the camouflage skills of the #RAFLuton team. The camera angle adds to the effect.

Are they going to be retrospectively fitted to the Halifax and Wellington aircraft too?
