Station CO Gp Capt Harry Stashe had the pleasure of launching HMS Keith, our newest Runway Boat into the #RAFLuton lake today. Though we do have to wait for the tide to come in. PS Does anyone know if lakes are tidal?pic.twitter.com/x2Ye1k8lTq

Have the lake water tested for Bernoullis. You need Bernoullis in the water for takeoff and landing. More important than tides.

Lakes are only tidal if they are connected to the sea! ;)

Depends on how big your lake is and how many moons you have

Given the water table levels currently I’m certain that the lake at RAF Luton would indeed be tidal

The lake at RAF Luton recently breached its banks and affected areas to the south- mainly Harpenden. Luckily this has since receded and did not reach the great city of St Albans (where many of the fighter pilots live)
