This amazing photograph shows a Chinook S (small) unloading an army Landrover tank from a Chinook L (large), This is very dangerous and timing is crucial in order to avoid the large spinny thingspic.twitter.com/Au41RGptJj

Today I told an #Avgeek you can transport two of the Small ones in a big one. He had told me it wasn’t true as he couldn’t find a small one in his books. I told him obviously not in the books as it was still secret. 🤣

Actually they’re not ‘spinny’ things, the correct terminology is ‘whirley’ things (as in Dervish) Just thought you’d like to know #lol

Sorry. I can be dense sometimes. But is RAF Luton serious? Are they expecting people to believe that, or are they somehow making a joke? Maybe I just don't get British humor.

Hi Paul, The Chinook S unloading the Chinook L is no joking matter! it's a very dangerous and complex operation, the pilots need great skill to match the load lifting winch speed to that of the spinny thing speed. This can take years to master.
