Creativity is always derivative and there's always context and nuance to every "new" creation. Often that context is what makes it special. There's not much of a difference practically speaking in between writing a remix and a new work. It's all music.
Everything I create is just me filtering all my influences. It's my own personal lens on the world. Some of those influences can be obvious sometimes. It's a spectrum though and you can definitely tell when something is clearly just copying.
Again, not making a judgement call on the art involved here. I intentionally wrote this without looking at it. Perhaps for now we just let the market decide on what's actually valuable.
