#TeslaTip precondition your battery for home charging by navigating to the nearest supercharger (even though you’re actually headed home). Esp. if you charge outside in cold weather, this will ensure your battery is ready for optimal charging anywhere you go. #Tesla @Teslapic.twitter.com/eFhnkqsygN

This is un needed unless your battery is cold soaked and even then is un needed unless you need to go somewhere quickly after getting home.

That’s the point. It charges more quickly because it’s properly warmed up.

But it doesn’t slow down your charge, in fact using energy to needlessly warm the battery wastes more energy and thus makes your charge time longer. In your picture your battery is plenty warm to accept the max 11.5kw the internal charger of LR models supports.Or 7.7 of SR models

Not everyone has L2 charging at home. A lot of us trickle-charge from 120V.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZoT8Sch_5U … Relevant video from @BjornNyland. He started with a outside temp of 1.5C, Battery temp of 14C, drove some & then charged @ full 3.4kw speed w/o battery heating (24.8C battery temp). The slower you charge, the less the battery needs to be heated.

Just watch Bjorn's video unless you want to disagree with him as well. I hate when false information is spread, it's just as bad as FUD in my eyes. Liking my own post will make it more relevant for others to read.
