"In the era of ever diminishing speech rights and privileges, of mainstream publishers even shutting down their readers’ comments sections, Quillette went against the tide and expanded them." See why our readers love the Quillette Circle

"Autogynephilic males who abruptly declare themselves to be trans often experience shame, especially given the traumatic effect on their families. Demanding the world recognize them as actual women is a strategy for absolving themselves of responsibility"

It's always fascinating to observe how people fall into cults & how they find their way out. Two followers of Franklin Jones tried to translate his mantras into another language--upon reading the translated mantras they realised they were complete BS

I know little about Confucius, but was fascinated by this new article by Stephen Asma of . Confusican ethics arguably are more workable & humane than Christian-derived systems, as they accept natural biases toward friends & family

"Yes, gender dysphoria is a real condition. I know, because I have it: the feeling that my male biology is at odds with my desire to have a female body. But I don’t have to invent some mystical spiritual force called gender identity to explain this"

By me for : "We [transwomen] should not need to pretend that we are women (to ourselves and anyone else) in order to find relief from gender dysphoria." We also need to destigmatise Autogynephilia: a rather large elephant in the room.

Brave new piece by , a trans writer who is upfront about the realities of biology, and the manner by which a small sub-group of autogynephiles have co-opted trans activism for their own purposes

"For Confucian thinkers, integrity is not synonymous with fairness or equality. Rather, familial love and devotion trump all other duties and obligations. There is a natural hierarchy of values, with one’s kin on top."
