Probably because people dont know how to have a discussion or "agree to disagree" because the media charges them to hate and argue and teaches that you HAVE to be right as if your life depends on it.

Correction: Hate groups willing to openly admit they are hate groups is at an all time high. They’ve always existed, it’s just acceptable now in this current political environment.

Partly because Social Media keeps retweeting scenes of hate. Videos without context. Assumptions versus facts. Perception is reality. So folks without discernment jump on bandwagons and ride off the deep end.
