ie they say being sad after a death isn’t “depression” b/c not chronic. But what about response to a chronic stimulus like long-term unemployment? You might face a choice about Rx even if you think the response is “natural” (because it is non adaptive)

@BulbousOtter I thought of the same exact post when I read@TsarofMeats tweet The thing is, there is such a thing as actual mental illness - try "reasoning" with a schizophrenic patient. However, the proportion of the population with actual mental illness is small -
oh i agree. it’s not that psychiatric meds don’t have an effect
