An r^2 of 0.05 is not “everything”, it’s literally almost nothing.
It literally says that it "...accounts for 9% of the variance in the target trait". That is an R^2 of 0.09. It's garbage.
Everything in genetics is small effect sizes. That's just how genes seem to work.
If the effect sizes are small, perhaps............... we shouldn't use it to craft public policy or predict individual variations???????
