" Constantine, a beast in human form, who murdered his mother and boiled his wife in oil, was the chief factor in the orthodox translation of the so-called King James bible." -Tree of Life.

Constantine murderer his mother? first time i hear about that & he translated the KJ bible? came on, this is stupid. He had nothing to do with the KJ bible, thats why it's named after a English king & not Roman who lived 1300 years before King James in England. So stupid

The Authorized Version (KJV) was based on the so-called "Byzantine text-type", one of the 50 complete bibles that were commissioned by Constantine when the canon was set at the Council of Nicaea

Obviously u guys have no clue what can of worms u are opening by discussing bible translation or by trying to equate KJ with Byzantine Text, this is a big subject. John Drums is right, KJ Bible was a break with Christian tradition of using Latin & Greek text & preferring Jewish

The Vulgate was translated directly from the Hebrew b/c Jerome was weird about that, and Jerome is the one who started the whining about texts that never existed in Hebrew. AV at least returned to the Byzantine text-type

Speaking about Ancient Christianity on this thread can @Styx666Official please debate @Jay_D007, they can talk about Ancient Christianity and "Did Constantine write the KJ Bible and murder his mother" can also form part of that debate. All the best everyone

All Christian text go back to the Greek Septuagint, including old Latin, KJV might use Byzantine text for NT (which has nothing to do Constantine but St Athanasius). Yes Jerome translated from old Hebrew, but KJV is missing even some those OT books, which means even more revision
