For myself, I’d put poetry at the top and drama last, with wide gaps between each of the three.

When I was in college, a professor asked this question and prose won by a wide margin, as I expect it will here. Most of my classmates called poetry their least favourite genre.

Film is the dominant art form today, and I suspect that prose is the most popular because it’s generally more film-like than poetry, and easier to read than drama. It’s also more spectacular than drama.

It's hard to choose between judging the genres by their best or by their representative specimens. Best poetry > best prose but decent prose > decent poetry

It’s a tough call, but I generally make these comparisons based on the genres’ best representatives; it seems unfair to hold, say, Maya Angelou against Robert Frost, which is essentially what happens when you average them out.
