Right, but you have to treat (either because of pissed off moms or genuine diversion of resources) the choice to stray as having genuine costs or monogamy could never have been even semi-stable

yeah, but I don't think the costs can be symmetrical or else it's not even a hard problem (anyway, in practice the bourgeois virtues are all interconnected and leaving your wife gets you a rep as a scoundrel - the point of my post)
